Responsible for promoting and protecting the safety and health of all personnel involved in the project including the public.
Responsible for the protection of the Project Office property from theft, loss and pilferage.
Reports directly to the Project In-Charge Engineer, or in his absence, to the Project Manager
Enforces the prescribed site safety rules and regulations.
Ensures that all work permits are secured prior to the implementation of the project.
Responsible for the compliance of all workers in satisfying the minimum and additional safety requirements (e.g. PPE).
Maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the Project Office and the work areas.
Responsible for the workers’ compliance and observance of personal hygiene.
Prepares reports on accidents, violations of safety standards and requirements, and recommends penalties and sanctions against erring workers.
Schedules orientation and induction seminars on safety for all workers.
Conducts “Tool Box” meetings with the workers.
Coordinates with the General Contractor’s Safety Officer on matters related to safety.
Conducts Aspect Impact Assessment for Project Sites or Main Plant/Warehouse (wherever assigned).
In the absence of a Safety Manager coordinates with third party Work Environment Measurement (WEM) consultant to conduct WEM at the Main Plant/Warehouse (for Safety Officer assigned to Main Warehouse).

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably of an Engineering course or equivalent
With at least 1-year related work experience, preferably gained from a construction business
Familiarity, extensive exposure or previous training on Occupational Safety and Health policies, procedures, or requirements
